Breath, Core & Pelvic Floor: Interactive Workshop
Your core is more than your abs — and your pelvic floor doesn't work in isolation.
Join Samantha Fox, PT, DPT, of Breakaway Physical Therapy and Wellness for an interactive workshop at Ascent Health & Performance exploring how breathing, your core, and your pelvic floor work together during lifting, running, walking, and everyday movement.

What You'll Learn
This is an interactive workshop, not just a lecture. Sam will combine education with practical exercises to help you better understand and feel how these systems work together.
We'll cover:
- What your core and pelvic floor actually are
- How breathing, the core, and pelvic floor interact
- How to improve the mind-muscle connection with your core and pelvic floor
- Why bracing and pelvic floor activation matter during upright activities like lifting, running, and walking
- Specific activation exercises you can use in everyday life and at the gym
Your Core and Pelvic Floor Work as a System
Breathing, abdominal pressure, trunk control, and pelvic floor function aren't separate concepts.
They work together whenever you're carrying groceries, picking something up from the floor, running, squatting, lifting weights, or simply moving through your day.
Learning how to coordinate these systems can give you a much better understanding of what bracing actually means — beyond simply being told to "tighten your core."
And because this workshop is interactive, you'll have an opportunity to practice that connection rather than just hear about it

Who Is This Workshop For?
You don't need to be experiencing pelvic floor symptoms to benefit from understanding how this system works.
This workshop is a great fit for anyone who wants to better understand their core, improve how they brace during exercise, become more confident with lifting and movement, or learn more about pelvic floor function from a physical therapist.
No previous strength-training experience is required.
